I can’t help it. My business is display and presentation, so any retail outlet I enter is subject to my scrutiny. Some are great, some are okay and many are not only horrible, but dangerous.

So I’m walking down the aisle, minding my own business, when all of a sudden a cardboard leprechaun attacks me from the sky. Okay, it didn’t actually assault me, but it did smack me on the head.

I pick the piece up, check out it’s construction, then look up and surmise that whoever put this up was trying to save money, or just didn’t have a clue what to do.

McManus O’Brian was attached to the ceiling with a paper clip and scotch tape. Okay, so first of all the paper clip was forced into the acoustic ceiling, punching a hole that will only deteriorate over time and McManus’ head was fastened with a piece of kite string and scotch tape. It was kind of funny that it happened to me, but what if it were a five year-old who just happened to be looking up and the corner of the display scratched his eye?

You see my point.
